چکیده

Joint line (JL) restoration is one of the major challenges in revision total knee arthroplasty (rTKA). There debate regarding most reliable methodology for assessment JL level during surgery. Among strategies, use adductor tubercle (AT) as an anatomical landmark has been proposed. The purpose this paper to systematically review available literature understand reliability AT ratio identify JL, and advantages drawbacks its application. A research was performed on PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Google Scholar databases based following inclusion criteria articles' selection: (I) clinical reports any evidence, (II) written English language, (III) published from 2010 2020, (IV) dealing with a restore TKA. All relevant data were extracted by two independent investigators, discrepancies resolved discussion consensus. 13 studies included: nine radiographic evaluations, 3 1 ex-vivo study. Radiographic highlighted that easy identify, high intra inter-observer agreement, irrespective gender, age size patient. comparison other bony landmarks revealed superior favor AT. Also surgical procedures, can be safely located some confirmed helps surgeon re-establishing correct achieve ligament balancing even complex cases. easily detectable landmark, valid tool determine help surgeons simultaneously r-TKA.

The medial and lateral epicondyle as a reliable landmark for intra-operative joint line determination in revision knee arthroplasty

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to develop an accurate, reliable and easily applicable method for determining the anatomical location of the joint line during revision knee arthroplasty. METHODS The transepicondylar width (TEW), the perpendicular distance between the medial and lateral epicondyles and the distal articular surfaces (DMAD, DLAD) and the distance between the medial and ...

“Meniscal” scar as a landmark for the joint line in revision total knee replacement

AIM To determine whether tissue identified at the joint line was actually remnant "meniscal" scar tissue or not. METHODS Nine patients undergoing revision knee surgery following informed consent had meniscal scar tissue sent to the histology department for analyses. All revisions were performed where joint line had been raised or lowered at earlier surgery. Although preoperative radiographic ...

Joint line restoration during revision total knee arthroplasty: an accurate and reliable method

During revision total knee arthroplasty, the joint line is frequently malpositioned, due to the disappearance of the anatomical landmarks following previous interventions. This leads to decreased clinical outcome and increased risk of re-intervention. Many methods have been proposed to restore the joint line, but none of them has shown itself to be reliable. We describe an accurate and precise ...

Revision of Unicondylar to Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Systematic Review

Isolated unicompartmental osteoarthritis in the young patient is a difficult problem to treat; they may be too young to consider total knee arthroplasty due to difficulties with inevitable future revision. Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty is one possible solution as it is perceived by some as being a smaller surgical insult than total knee arthroplasty, with easier revision to total knee arth...

Analgesic Efficacy of Adductor Canal Block in Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Meta‐analysis and Systematic Review

The aim of this meta-analysis and systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of adductor canal block (ACB) for early postoperative pain management in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Relevant manuscripts comparing ACB with saline or femoral nerve block (FNB) in TKA patients were searched for in the databases of PubMed, EMBA...
